Tam Dao ist eine Erholungsort auf dem Gebirge, das 85 Kilometer nordwestlich von Hanoi und auf einer Höhe von 930 Metern über Meeresspiegel liegt. Dieser Ort wurde von den Franzosen Kaskade d’Argent (silberne Kaskade) genannt. Er wurde von den Franzosen 1907 als Ort zum Entweichen von der Hitze des roten Flußdreiecks gegründet.
